Resource arbitration and concurrency man-agement must be implemented in software. Existing hardware arbitration mechanisms use explicit locking to protect against resource conflicts. Explicit locking may lead to deadlock, which must be avoided for long-term sensor network deploy-ments. We present a power-saving resource arbitration archi-tecture that is deadlock-free, portable, and resource-efficient. The architecture explicitly manages inter-device dependencies to know what devices to power down.}, keywords = {hardware abstraction, resource arbitration, fault-tolerance, operating systems, wireless sensor networks}, owner = {baar}, timestamp = {2008.08.04}, url = {http://cst.mi.fu-berlin.de/publications/pdf/2008-Baar2008-FGSN.pdf}, }
